Brunching on an empty stomach

The most important meal of the day/week weekend brunch. Brunch is the staple to the lives of any aspiring chauncy lady or lad. Being a millennial in order for a brunch to not be irrelevant a few boxes must be checked; does it photograph well, is there avocado on the menu, whats the champagne to juice ratio in the mimosa, how many likes will I get by posting a photo of the table, whats the location. After checking off the necessary boxes you realize that while many places aspire to be a great brunch destination few live up to taste, experience, and chauncy location. When thinking of a bloggers brunch one place does come to mind, Jack's Wife Freda in New York City. With multiple locations throughout New York and brought into the public eye by bloggers and I

nstagram super stars, Jack's Wife Freda is a must when trying to pick a place that photographs nicely. Upon entrance to their website to search out your meal, because who goes to a restaurant without pre-examining the menu to figure out which foods might photograph/taste best, you realize that the pop of color on their home page is no joke. This menu combines fresh ingredient combinations with a whimsical flair. The restaurants are also no joke, set up with long tables and benches so you'll most likely be sharing a table with strangers, and packed into a small space like sardines. We aren't sure why the restaurant is so small, could be classic New York real estate, maybe a smaller space with a normal amount of people makes you think they're busy, maybe the owners just like to be in each others bubbles. Anyways the paper menus put on the table serve dual purpose as a place mat and menu so kudos to saving the planet and getting double use. While here don't forget to take a second look at the at their sugar packets that talk to you before adding one to your black coffee. The menu brings together creative and fresh ingredient pairings such as a rosewater waffle, green shakshuka, or mashed avocado on seeded bread. While we came for the food we stuck around for the cantaloupe mimosas. The canaloupe mimosa provides a light alternative to the regular orange juice mimosa, a perfect summertime beverage not overpowering the ever important champagne component to the mimosa. All in all if you're in New York and want a picture perfect brunch tell your uber driver to do you a solid and drop you at their Carmine or Lafayette location serving brunch until 5pm so being hungover is no excuse to miss this. Before you head over get yourself salivating by popping over to the instagram page of  @jackswifefreda to further peruse the pictures and find a meal that will tickle your fancy.
